Learn to maximize the sun when taking photographs, whether you enjoy capturing landscapes, architecture, people or all the above! This will be an introduction to useful tools on and off the camera, ways to apply techniques to your phone camera and light-specific composition guidelines for different subjects.
The mini-workshop includes a discussion about photography and light on Friday night followed by a Saturday morning field shoot and afternoon review of the images taken. All 3 components will be opportunities for learning, sharing and growing as a photographer.

What You’ll Learn:
-How to pay attention to light variations
-Discover how to choose the right light for different subjects
-Explore tools you already have and ones you might consider to help improve your photos
-Time in the field with your instructor for one-on-one instruction
-Evaluate images to identify what worked and where there’s room for improvement
What to Bring:
Your camera, lenses, phone, tripod (if you have them)
Susanna Gaunt taught photography for 10 years+ at Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula, Montana. She currently runs the Youth Photography Club for teens at Duluth Art Institute. Before expanding to mixed media, she photographed a range of subject matter, from architecture to close-ups and preferred working in series. 'Home Life,' one of her last photographic projects, was like a backstage pass to parenting, showcasing the many facets of raising kids.
