DRAWING SYSTEMS - JUNE 8thIn this in person one day program, we will learn the basics of drawing systems, a methodology that combines scribing—visually representing ideas while people talk—with systems thinking. Offered by Jessica Riehl and Kevin Heibert.
A 1-day in person experience to learn to draw a system. Join this program to explore the intersection of drawing and systems thinking.
Description
This program teaches a hands-on and iterative method of drawing systems, to gain an understanding of leverage points for change. This method, called Systems Scribing, can be applied at a personal, community, organizational, or institutional level. This is a new, tangible approach to representing dynamics, occurring in the moment and over time. This discipline develops a critical skill to facilitate a system’s ability to see and sense itself, as well as crystalize ideas into action. This program is designed for all levels of drawing experience.
Participants will:
-learn the basics of Systems Thinking
-learn the basics of the Systems Scribing method
-develop confidence in putting pen to paper to draw a system.
-reflect on their drawing with the system scribing canvas.
-iterate the drawing to evolve their understanding of the system and their role in it.
-engage with the system in a more conscious and intentional manner.
