This five day drawing workshop aims to provide the student with a series of exercises that attempt to loosen up and expand their drawing and observational skills. This loosening up will then be developed in to more resolved, considered and finished drawings. The intention is to not only help improve drawing facility but to also open up the idea of drawing as a way of thinking and problem solving.
The workshop will include both traditional and experimental exercises in an attempt to help the students to develop there own drawing vocabulary and individual style within their drawing process
The projects will have levels of competence that hopefully will be inclusive and be able to accommodate all the students attending on multiple levels of proficiency.
This is intended to be an intensive workshop and runs for 5 consecutive days . it will require you to be quite committed with your time as it runs from 9 am till 6pm and might involve you working at home in the evenings as well, the intention is to cover as much as we can in this intensive session of drawing . Students will be asked to build an object as a reference from which there first drawings will develop so as to avoid the habit of cell phone drawing ! .
The brief will be provide on registration . the workshop will also include discussions on presentations of work , developing a body of work to approach a gallery and other matters of professional practice.
