Learn how to source and create your own natural walnut ink with artist Anne Marie Kennedy. Students explore how to process locally collected black walnut hulls to create a simple dye used for centuries to stain papers and create drawings.
Kennedy provides students with her own specially prepared, handmade flax paper to use for staining. Participants also learn how to apply gelatin sizing to paper and can expect to leave the workshop with a small stack of walnut-stained papers as well as original ink drawings.
