Welcome to Draw That Sound! A Creative Art Workshop for Adults and Kids Ages 8 +!

Join us for a fun, two-hour art workshop where adults and young artists will learn how to turn sounds into art! From birdsong to the roar of the ocean, we will explore how to listen to different sounds and bring them to life on paper. Inspired by famous artists like Wassily Kandinsky, who painted music with colors and shapes, this workshop encourages creativity, imagination, and a new way to experience the world around us.

Participants will experiment with different materials, share their artwork, and even create a group sound collage! No previous art experience needed—just a love for fun and creativity!

Adults with or without children welcome.

Cost: 1 Adult = 20 euro ( not incl eventbrite fee) + 1 child = 5 euro (5 euro payable in cash on arrival)

? 11:00 - 11:10 AM | Welcome & Introduction

We’ll start with a quick introduction to “drawing sound” and a fun icebreaker to get everyone warmed up! We will imagine what different sounds might look like and share our ideas with the group.

? 11:10 - 11:25 AM | Activity 1: Birds Singing

We will listen to birdsong and use colored pencils to capture the “feeling” of the sound with shapes and colors. This exercise lets us explore how sounds can be soft, light, or bouncy!

? 11:25 - 11:40 AM | Activity 2: City Traffic

Next, we’ll play sounds of city traffic. Using dark crayons and markers, we will draw the sharp, bold lines that these busy sounds inspire. We’ll experiment with the rhythm of loud and quiet sounds.

? 11:40 - 11:50 AM | Quick Break: Meet Kandinsky

We’ll gather around for a short introduction to Wassily Kandinsky, an artist who “painted” music! We will see some of his work and learn how colors and shapes can capture the feeling of sound.

? 11:50 AM - 12:10 PM | Activity 3: Ocean Waves

We will hear the sounds of ocean waves and use watercolors to create fluid, wavy strokes that reflect the sea’s movement. This exercise encourages us to feel the gentle flow of sound.

? 12:10 - 12:30 PM | Group Project: Sound Collage for Kids (Adults optional: option to continue with own work)

Working together on a large piece of paper, we will draw to a mix of the sounds we’ve listened to, creating a fun “sound collage” full of colors, shapes, and lines.

? 12:30 - 12:50 PM | Reflection & Art Gallery

Everyone will walk around to admire each other’s work, discussing how sounds inspired different drawings. We can share our favorite part of the workshop and what sounds we enjoyed drawing most!

? 12:50 - 1:00 PM | Wrap-Up & Takeaway

We’ll end with a final reflection on drawing and listening and encourage everyone to try drawing sounds at home!
