Monday, December 1 from 6 to 9pm: DRAW!

The 2025 season finale and first posthumous edition of DRAW! will feature the never-before-seen work of my late mom, Mary Beth Kurtz-Day, 1952-2022.

Hello, Ryan here - you may remember me from such vintage stores / event venues called Dandy.

Looking back, it's occurred to me that everything that makes up my personality, hobbies, and career, was unearthed in mom and dad's basement. When I found photos of dad wearing bell bottoms in the '70s, I began my hunt for vintage...cause I wanted to look like that. When I spotted great grandma's standing radio, I knew the kinds of things I wanted to surround myself with.

But earliest of all, when I found mom's high school sketchbooks, they not only sparked my interest in art, but also laid the foundation for me wanting to create stuff: drawings, photography, comedy, music...

So while this DRAW! will feature mom's private work and how it inspired me, it'll also be a meditation on early ambition, life having other plans, and how the privilege to create isn't always in the cards.

REQUIREMENTS
• DRAW! at Dandy is a 21+ event.
• Dandy is also a bar, so no BYOB allowed.
• You will, however, need to BYO art supplies, whether pencil/paper or tablet.
