Drakes Island is a psychedelic folk band, based in the South West (UK). Their sound has been compared to artists such as A Blaze of Feather, Pink Floyd and Bears Den.The birth of the band came from Plymouth staple Fergus Tanner, who sought out fellow local , now bassist Olly Parker. Then Jamie Yost, lead guitarist, pianist and co-composer, joined the band. Finally, Matthew Gordon Price, the singer/songwriter turned drummer. This sporadic collection of musicians has since formed into a dynamic 4-piece, striving to experiment and produce new waves of music. Hinting at folky roots and existentially growing ambiance, the band has curated a sound that flows and drifts along the line of conformity in music.
