#LoneScoutJason aka #EagleScoutJason of #DragonautsCrew333 and #SSSPhoenixDragon333 invites ALL SCOUTING AMERICA YOUTH to a HOLIDAY SKATE at PERSHING SQUARE in downtown Los Angeles where he first learned to skate at 3 years old on Christmas Eve 2009 with his cousin Cheryl.

THIS CHRISTMAS EVE 2024 SESSION IS A 100-MINUTE PRACTICE SESSION TO BECOME PROFICIENT FOR REQUIREMENT 2 OF THE SKATING MERIT BADGE -AND/OR - THE WINTER SPORTS ELECTIVE OF THE RANGER MEDAL SHOULD PLAN TO SKATE THE ENTIRE SESSION.
- Participate in at least 10 recreational skating sessions totaling 40 hours.
- On one of your skating trips, demonstrate to the adult skating counselor approved by your Advisor that you are proficient in this sport.
- Give instruction and assistance to a group of beginner skaters.
- Make a tabletop display or presentation for your crew, another crew, a Cub Scout or Boy Scout unit, or another youth group on ice skating.

SKATING MERIT BADGE REQUIREMENT 2:
-Req B1. Skate forward at least 40 feet and come to a complete stop. Use either a two-footed snowplow stop or a one-footed snowplow stop.
-Req B2. After skating forward, glide forward on two feet, then on one foot, first right and then left.
-Req B3. Starting from a T position, stroke forward around the test area, avoiding the use of toe picks if wearing figure skates,
-Req C1. Glide backward on two feet for at least two times the skater's height.
-Req C2. Skate backward for at least 20 feet on two skates.
-Req C3. After gaining forward speed, glide forward on two feet, making a turn of 180 degrees around a cone, first to the right and then to the left.
-Req D1. Perform forward crossovers in a figure eight pattern.
-Req D3. Perform a hockey stop.

NOTES - PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING UP AS THERE ARE NO REFUNDS.
1) Parking and travel from wherever you are and the venue is your responsibility.
2) Scouts BSA will attend in their Scouts BSA Class A field uniform to check in with #LoneScoutJason and #DragonautsCrew333. Scouts BSA will skate in their uniforms.
3) Venturers will attend in their respective uniform to check in with #DragonautsCrew333 - AND SKATE IN THEIR UNIT UNIFORM.
4) Cost listed is for (a) skates rental, (b) rink admission, (c) locker rental, (d) donation to St Jude’s Children Hospital and Friends of Scouting.
5) This is NOT a drop off for any SCOUT BSA 11-17 years old. All Scouts BSA must be accompanied at the maximum ratio of 4-Scouts to 1-adult from the same troop.
6) Only Venturers at least 16 years old may be dropped off without a BSA adult leader. Sea Scouts and Venturers who are 13-15 years old must have a BSA Adult Leader on site throughout the program.
7) BRING YOUR 10 ESSENTIALS INCLUDING FIRST AID KIT FOR A DAY AT THE ICE RINK - plus completed copy of the Dragonauts 333 Activity Waiver:

Dragonauts Crew 333 is a high adventure STEM based Outdoors Adventure Club for teenagers (13+) interested in Dragonboat Racing and STEM experiences in Southern California, regardless of race/gender/school affiliation… No Scouting experience required.
Dragonauts Crew 333 venturers lead a medal winning youth dragon boat racing team known as JASON AND THE DRAGONAUTS for all Scouts - whether Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scouts, Rovers, or Eagle Scouts.
