The NBP Dragon Boat Racing League is an eight-week paddling league designed for beginners, returning paddlers, friends, and corporate teams who want to experience the thrill of dragon boat racing—no experience required.
What Is Dragon Boat Racing?
Dragon boat racing is a fast-growing paddling sport that blends teamwork, fitness, and adrenaline. Crews paddle in sync to move a long racing boat across the water, powered by rhythm, timing, and teamwork. It’s easy to learn, incredibly fun, and accessible to all fitness levels.
The NBP Dragon Boat Racing League is the perfect introduction to the sport, offering a welcoming, low-pressure environment where participants learn the basics while enjoying the excitement of competition.
Dragon Boat League Program Overview
This 8-week dragon boat racing league includes one coached practice per week, led by experienced and certified dragon boat coaches. No experience is needed to participate. Join as an individual or sign up an entire team!

8 weeks of coached dragon boat practices
All paddling equipment provided
Team shirt for race day
Team tent in the Athletes’ Village
Entry into the Benderson Chase during Sarasota Oktoberfest on Oct 10-11.
All equipment is provided, including dragon boats, paddles, and lifejackets. Participants are grouped into crews, creating an instant team and community on the water.
