We will be meeting at Sunset Woods in Highland Park, at the the Camp Picnic Shelter. The shelter is located at the northwest corner of the park. If you follow the path that leads from the north end of the parking lot, it will take you directly to our picnic shelter. It will take a couple of minutes to get from the parking lot to the shelter.
This program is aimed at children ages 0-8 and their caregivers, but families of all ages are welcome.
COVID Safety: Masks are required for all attendees age 2 and over, regardless of vaccination status. Social distancing is expected.
Please join us for a morning of stories and songs for families led by a special guest from Drag Queen Story Hour!
Drag Queen Story Hour celebrates reading through the glamorous art of drag. Drag Queen Story Hour helps children develop empathy, learn about gender diversity and difference, and tap into their own creativity. It can also be life-changing and ultimately life-saving for LGBTQ kids and teens, kids with LGBTQ parents or family members, and anyone who feels different because of their identity or interests or who may not otherwise see themselves reflected in the broader culture.

Congregation Hakafa
HAKAFA means "encirclement." We are a congregation of people who choose to have no building, no board of directors, and no fund-raising. Our CIRCLE has been growing for nearly 40 years. But as we grow, our intimate, caring, and welcoming atmosphere remains.

This Drag Queen Story Hour is part of Hakafa's Tot Shabbat and Tayalim programs. Tayalim, Hebrew for trekkers, is Hakafa’s new, outdoor, experiential program for member and non-member families with children primarily in grades K-5. It is designed to introduce families to the relationship between Judaism, Torah, and nature in unique and fun ways.
If you have any questions, please contact Hakafa member, Rae Goodman-Lucker ([email protected]).
