Join Irma Girdle - drag queen, architecture expert, and self-described purveyor of “sass and knowledge of architecture” - for a one-of-a-kind evening exploring the hidden histories of Mirvish Village, on the streets and at Book Bar.
The evening begins with a guided walking tour of Mirvish Village led by Irma, exploring the architecture, heritage buildings, people, places, and colourful past that have shaped one of Toronto’s most storied neighbourhoods.
From there, we’ll head back to Book Bar for a reading and conversation inspired by Hidden Toronto. Irma will transport us to Toronto in the 1960s with a reading from the book, joined by historical drag queen Nicki Nastasia, who’ll take us back another century with a special reading from the 1860s.
Stay for an audience Q&A, book signing, wine, and plenty of time to socialize and continue the conversation.
Part walking tour, part literary evening - Drag Me to Mirvish Village is an invitation to discover a side of Toronto you may have walked past a hundred times without ever knowing its stories.
