About this Event
This event will look at the pivotal role played by GLD's Statutory Instruments Hub (SI Hub) in the 10 years since it was set up. The SI Hub drafts approximately 20% of the UK Government's secondary legislation, and is a centre of excellence within Government, providing extensive training and guidance to colleagues in the Government Legal Department. It also acts as a point of contact for external stakeholders such as the National Archive and Parliamentary scrutiny committees.
The talk will include a focus on how the SI Hub has responded to the challenge of delivering significant, high profile legislative programmes, such as regulations relating to Coronavirus, and EU Exit-related secondary legislation.
The speakers will be:
- Daniel Jenkins, the first head of the SI Hub
- Catherine Davidson, its current head.
