Dr. Sketchy’s Baltimore: Burlesque Life Drawing feat. Desiree De Sade

A livelier life drawing event, Dr. Sketchy’s is where artists of all levels draw fabulous burlesque and variety performers. Enjoy delicious cocktails and compete in zany drawing contests to win free drinks and other awesome prizes! We’ll start off with quick 1- and 2-minute gesture poses and gradually move up to 20-minute sketches. No drawing experience is necessary; just bring your own drawing materials—plus generous cash tips for our model—and join us for some fun figure sketching practice!

We're thrilled to have NYC's Désirée De Sade as our first model and performer of 2026! Here's a little bit about our January muse:

"As NYC’s Drop Dead Gorgeous Dream Ghoul, Désirée De Sade has been bringing her strange and unusual creatures to life since 2017. A lover of the macabre and all things ridiculous- she delights in defying expectations, surprising audiences with horrifying transformations and dramatic storytelling. You never know what will crawl out from The Cabinet of Burlesque Curiosities, and even her friends don’t always recognize her from show to show.

"Désirée is also the co-producer of Once Bitten Burlesque, a space for all things spooky and weird since 2021, currently monthly at Grace&Ruby’s in Brooklyn and the co-producer of Sunday Scaries, a night of burlesque, magic, and trivia for horror enthusiasts at The Twisted Spine Bookstore. When not onstage, you can find Désirée behind the camera lens shooting shows, events, and portraits as a go-to photographer for the city’s nightlife community, published in Bombshell Magazine, Rocket Magazine, RetroLovely, TimeOut, Photoblographer, and The Queens Gazette. Come explore, if you dare, the twisted corners of her imagination, and you’ll never be the same."

Come early to get the best seats and a drink—and even a delicious dinner—then stay after we wrap up to share your work with fellow artists over one last drink at the bar.

Doors at 6:00 pm, drawing from 7-10 pm. 18+ to draw, 21+ to drink. $15 in advance, $20 at the door, plus service fees for online and in-person credit card transactions. BYO drawing supplies. No photography, messy paints, or dip pens, please (watercolors are fine).
