During the tour, Dr. Richard Stupart will talk about humanitarian journalism and working in a conflict. He will focus on the concept of ‘The Photographer as a Witness’, and discuss the moral duties the position entails and the effects of photos as witness accounts. A fascinating insight on the challenges journalists face in the modern age.
Dr. Richard Stupart works as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Center for Media At Risk. His research mostly concerns the norms and practices of bearing witness by journalists in geopolitically marginal conflicts, as well as the role of emotion in the work of journalists under pressure.
