About this Event

With hits like "Light My Fire," "Riders On The Storm" and "Break On Through," the Doors are one of the most beloved rock groups of all time. Dr. Mike Daley Presents: The Story of the Doors is an entertaining lecture-concert celebrating their career and music, featuring Mike on guitar and vocals, Greg Wyard on bass and vocals, Adam Warner on drums and vocals, and Jill Daley on piano and organ.

You'll learn about Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek's 1965 formation of the band in Venice, California, their rise to fame from the nightclubs of the Sunset Strip, their legal problems amid innovative albums that fused rock with poetry, and the afterlife of the Doors following Morrison's untimely death in 1971. The latest in a monthly series that has included sold-out lecture-concerts on David Bowie, Billy Joel, Gordon Lightfoot, Tina Turner and the Beach Boys, Dr. Mike Daley Presents: The Story of the Doors is a must-see for any music fan.

Dr. Mike Daley is a musician and musicologist known across the GTA for his lectures and performances. Greg Wyard (The Beatles Story, The Cat Stevens and Jim Croce Story) is a popular guitarist/bassist and singer. Adam Warner (The Guess Who Story, The Rolling Stones Story) is an established multi-instrumentalist and music educator. Jill Daley (all shows) is a full-time musician at Canada's National Ballet School and, like Mike, is part of the music team at Redeemer.

Church of the Redeemer is a spacious and comfortable (cushioned chairs, not pews)1879 church with excellent sightlines and acoustics. It is conveniently located in Yorkville, close to Bay and Museum subway stations, ample parking and fine restaurants.

General admission tickets are $35.00 plus HST and processing fee. These events usually sell out, but if tickets are available at the door, they will be $50.00, cash only. Ticket holders will check in at the door - there is no need to bring a paper or digital ticket.
