ML member Dr. David Center will speak about some of the indicators that suggest a possible "meaning" crisis., and the proposed underlying reasons for the prevalence of these indicators in society. Finally, some ideas about what can be done to alleviate the lack of meaning in life will be presented.

DAVID B. CENTER is retired academic who lives with his wife Shirley in Ball Ground GA. They have two adult sons and two grandsons, and are long-time Mountain Light attendees. David took up exploration of the spiritual side of his life in retirement because of some experiences that he had earlier in his life. He has been meditating for 10+ years. He's done retreats based in Theravada Buddhism, Tantrik Yoga and Kriya Yoga. He has read a good bit of spiritual literature written, for the most part by current practitioners and teachers. He and Shirley facilitated a course on mindfulness at Mountain Light a few years ago, and David currently leads the monthly MLUUC Spirituality and Philosophy Book Group.
