Join us for an engaging conversation with Dr. Bruce Strouble as he discusses his groundbreaking book "By Any Dreams Necessary: Exploring Imagination, Black Americans, and Our Equity Goals" at the 2026 Africana Arts & Humanities Festival.
Dr. Bruce Strouble is Professor Emeritus in the History and African American Studies Departments at San Jose State University. He earned his Ph.D. in U.S. History from the University of California, Berkeley in 1999. Dr. Strouble teaches courses in U.S. history, the history of religions in America, and African American history and culture. His research interests have included African American religion and culture, historical narratives and Afrofuturism, Black music, and African American comedy and humor.
This free event is part of the Africana Arts & Humanities Festival celebrating African American culture, history, and artistic expression at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center.
