About this Event
Join IDEAS For Us and Orlando Mainstreet for a beautification project in Downtown Orlando! We will be planting native pollinator plants and cleaning up Gertrude's Walk. After the planting, volunteers can attend a happy hour at Gravity Tap Room with free drink tickets!
Location: We will be meeting on the walkway between W Amelia Street and Concord Street, located across from the Lynx Station.
Parking: The closest garage is located across the street at 355 Alexander Pl, Orlando, FL 32801. This is a short walk under an overpass, but feel free to find more convenient parking.
Attire: Dress to get dirty, and wear green if you don't want to get pinched (its St. Patricks Day).
Thank you to the City of Orlando Art Pollinator Project for sponsoring this initiative!
About Art Pollination:
The City of Orlando’s project “Art Pollination: Building Food Justice through Creativity” considers public art's viability and value in relation to access to healthy food and nature’s pollinators in our diverse communities through a cross-pollination of actions, rooted in generosity, to improve life. “Art Pollination” is a collaborative public art project in partnership with local non-profits, Black Bee Honey, 4Roots, Hebni Nutrition Consultants, Ideas for Us-Fleet Farming, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, and the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, Orange County (UF/IFAS).
