What is The Greatest Virginia Greenup?

The Greatest Virginia Greenup is a statewide call to action to beautify the Commonwealth from the first day of spring to the first day of summer each year.

How can I participate?

You can join the efforts by volunteering for our Downtown Lynchburg Street Clean Up in an effort to make our city litter-free.

SHARE Greater Lynchburg, Downtown Lynchburg Association and Lynchburg Parks and Rec are teaming up to coordinate this local volunteer opportunity.

What should I bring?

All you need to bring is closed toed shoes, water bottle, and a posititve attitude! All other materials and safety gear will be available onsite.

Do you want to be a captain?

Captains will be in charge of a group. They will serve as record keepers estimating weight of trash bags and making sure gear makes it back to event organizers. Captains will receive extra prizes for their hard work.
