Downtown Details: An Edmonton iPhone Photo Walk

Your best camera is often the one already in your hand.
Join photographer, storyteller and educator Lucy Sager for a relaxed two-hour walk through downtown Edmonton designed to help you see familiar streets differently—and make stronger, more intentional photographs with your iPhone.
Beginning at Sir Winston Churchill Square, we will explore the surrounding streets while photographing architecture, reflections, light, movement and the small details that reveal something about a city. Rather than rushing from landmark to landmark, we will slow down, pay attention and experiment with different ways of composing the places around us.
This is both a photo walk and a hands-on learning experience. Along the way, Lucy will share practical demonstrations, creative prompts and individual guidance to help you become more confident using the camera you carry every day.

Who is this walk for?
This experience is designed for beginners, curious creatives, travellers, local explorers and anyone who would like to make better photographs with their iPhone. No previous photography experience is required, and you do not need the newest iPhone model.
The workshop will be taught using iPhone camera features.

We will meet at Sir Winston Churchill Square in downtown Edmonton. Registered participants will receive the exact gathering point and final arrival details by email before the walk.
Field Notes Photography workshops are built around a simple idea: better photographs begin with paying attention. Come explore downtown, meet other curious photographers and discover what changes when you give yourself time to notice.
A note about the weather
Photography does not require perfect weather. Clouds, light rain and changing skies can create beautiful reflections and softer light, so the walk will proceed in typical autumn conditions. Please dress in layers and check the forecast before arriving. If severe weather or unsafe conditions are expected, registered participants will receive an email with updated plans.
