Do you have some ideas of what downtown Fort Walton Beach should look like? We want your opinions!Come join us on Thursday, June 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Gulfview Center for a community engagement workshop on the Downtown Design Guideline Project.
“The meeting is designed for all city residents to give input into what they want to see the future of downtown look like,” said Growth Management Director Chris Frassetti. “Whether you’re a business owner, property owner, or visitor to downtown, we want to know what you would like it to look like in the future.”
Frassetti said this meeting, conducted by consulting firm Kimley-Horn, will be the first of several such meetings designed to get input for the Downtown Design Guideline Project. When completed, the project will include guidelines for architectural features for private properties as well as public properties, sidewalks, street furniture, and landscaping.
Frassetti said the city hopes to have a plan to present to the City Council for approval this fall.
