Entry for regular club nights is free, we pay our guests by way of a *CASH* collection. Whilst we understand that some simply haven't the means to make a contribution and absolutely DO NOT wish to exclude them, we expect those who can to make as generous a donation as they are able in recognition of our guest's work.
*PLEASE CHECK FOR UPDATES BEFORE SETTING OUT*
Life is full of unexpected ups and downs, illness, weather and other unexpected things can spoil the best made plans. We may sometimes have to change our guest at short notice, or even cancel an evening altogether. To avoid disappointment please re-visit the relevant night's event for updates *BEFORE* setting out.
*DOUGLAS & MOSS
Known for uncommon passion, grace, and sensitivity, Douglas & Moss (Rebecca Clare Douglas and Richard Moss) are a folk duo with a distinctive thread weaving through their music, deeply rooted in their home in North West England - the evocative hills, industrial towns and coastlines - with echoes of their musical heritage and experiences in Ireland, Scotland, and more distant lands.
Clare is an accomplished violin player with a background in classical music combined with a love of traditional music, having performed with Scottish dance band The Pictish Players and the Giggleswick Temperance Band. In 2020 she released The Fiddler from the Mountain of Fire, a collection of self-penned tunes inspired by the landscape, history and folklore of the Ingleborough area.
Richard delivers amazingly intricate guitar work with a richly accented, warm singing voice. He is well known in the northern folk scene performing at clubs and festivals both solo and as part of Drop the Floor. His solo album, Back To The Yellow Hills, explores tradition from the Northwest of England and journeys through 19th century Blackburn poetry, with highly accomplished arrangements and self-penned instrumental tunes.
The pair met performing with Mike Harding and discovered a shared musical connection that blossomed into a unique artistic partnership. Steeped in the rich folk tradition the duo weave a captivating blend of both traditional and original tunes and songs.
