Join us for a performance from the phenomenal Doug Richards Orchestra of their newest work on September 20th at 7:30PM in the Singleton Center for the Performing Arts.
This 17-piece jazz orchestra, comprised of the top musicians in the region, is directed by retired VCU Music faculty, and founder of the VCU Jazz Studies Program, Doug Richards. The DRO will perform Prof. Richards’ innovative interpretations of bossa nova and samba masterpieces by Antônio Carlos Jobim. The orchestra features the stunning artistry of vocalist Laura Ann Singh, a wide-ranging virtuoso singer, specializing in the music of Brazil.
