Conviction is a resting place. Doubt is infinite. Set in a Bronx Catholic school in 1964, the principal, Sister Aloysius, begins to suspect the new progressive young parish priest, Father Flynn, of committing a terrible crime. She enlists the help of the young and idealistic Sister James in her pursuit of vindication. As Sister James wrestles with the moral dilemma before her, we are left to question the foundations of our own convictions.
