This is the day that we float down the river from Iford Bridge to Christchurch Quay. This is a totally informal day with very few rules. At this point I would like to confess that I am not the creator of the event but I have done it every year for the last few years and this year it would be great to see a lot of other people out there on the river enjoying the fantastic day. The rules are very simple, we launch from Iford Bridge and you have to be on something inflatable. There will be pirates (there were in previous years) and you will get wet.
Ladies and Gentlemen, here we go, it is time for this years Dorset Dinghy Day Event. For those of you that do not know the event is very simple, we launch from Iford Bridge in anything inflatable and make our way down the river to Christchurch Quay.
I am not the creator of this event but as a participant for many years I am sad that nobody else has created the event and therefore I am putting this out there for all of you to join in.
So here is the formal disclaimer, this is a totally voluntary event which is not supported by any person or professional body. There is no cost to take part and I take no responsibility for any loss or damage to any person or entity that takes to the water. This is purely a social event for fun and entertainment. There are no prizes or participation awards and all risks are taken totally by all entrants.
