About this Event

About Dorothy Taubman (1917-2013)

"The body is capable of fulfilling all pianistic demands without a violation of its nature if the most efficient ways are used; pain, insecurity, lack of technical control are symptoms of in-coordination rather than the lack of practice, intelligence or talent."— Dorothy Taubman

Testimonials

Beth Levin, American Classical Pianist:

"My time as a student of Dorothy Taubman taught me concepts of the piano, artistry, technique and life. Dorothy was a brilliant human being- larger-than-life- who gave us all of her knowledge with grace, humanity and humor. I work everyday with the ideas she shared and I am eternally grateful."

Fr. Paul Maillet

"Mrs. Taubman changed my life! I am able to continue to play piano concerts in addition to my full life as a priest and professor only because I was blessed to learn her approach in my decade plus of working with her. I thank God for her amazing work and legacy every day. "
