DOROTHY BIRD „BELONGING“ - RECORD RELEASE PARTY
Friday 30th June 2022
7.30pm doors
Jimmy's Liverpool
Bold Street
£8
Berlin/Liverpool based singer-songwriter Dorothy Bird will be celebrating the release of her debut album 'Belonging' with a special live performance in the beautiful setting of Jimmy's Liverpool on Thursday 30th June 2022. Support on the night is from the local duos Visions of Albion and RUINS.
Dorothy Bird's full-length album will be released on a 12“ gatefold vinyl by Klee Music on the 24th of June 2022. With ringing endorsements from BBC Introducing, Tom Robinson's Fresh On The Net and BBC6music Mixtape, Mersey Radio and a plethora of tastemaking magazines both in England and her native Germany, Dorothy Bird's music has been described as "Haunting“ - Fresh On The Net. Influenced by Björk and Portishead as much as Thom Yorke and Goldfrapp, she is an art-pop songwriter who already has two solo EPs to her name which mix the acoustic with layers of electronica. On the night Dorothy, performing on piano & synth, will be joined on stage by Jon Lawton on guitar and Ryan Mallows on drums.
"Sounds magnificent" - Dave Monks BBC Introducing
'Both epic and cinematic. Gorgeous too.' by Neil March/Trust The Doc

+// Visions of Albion
Visions of Albion are a Liverpool-based duo formed in 2018 by Samantha Shields & Daniel Ryan. Their pastoral folk sound reaches across Richard & Linda Thompson’s England to swim the Irish Sea with Sinéad O'Connor & Shane MacGowan before settling down on a sea of sun-kissed melody in the mythical California of Lindsey Buckingham & Stevie Nicks.
In 2021 they released their debut EP for Klee Music which includes their well-received single 'You're Not Alone'. Sam & Dan first met whilst studying music in college. Almost instantly, they shared a connection and understanding of how music should make you feel and began writing their own songs. Since then they have made great strides, both in the studio and on stage, and have performed at such sold-out events as 'Merseyside's Best Vocal Duos' at Liverpool Philharmonic's Music Room; were finalists of Liverpool Acoustic's Songwriting Challenge and have made numerous appearances on BBC Radio.
“Great songs and pure, natural harmonies... there’s much loveliness to behold here.” - Nothingville Music
“Lindsey Buckingham meets Emmylou Harris euphoria of modern folk... “ - Getintothis

+// RUINS
RUINS are: Lloyd Rock (vocals & drums) / Nik Kavanagh (bass & synth)
Existing somewhere between dream and memory, RUINS present a melodic honesty, with
lyrically enchanting songs as joyous and melancholic as the human heart. At the core of the
band’s atmospheric sound are the stunning falsetto vocals from Lloyd Rock, with Nik
Kavanagh - formerly bassist with John Peel session regulars Ella Guru - providing the
musical foundation with minimal synth and drum machine arrangements, and brooding
basslines.
"Ruins are a duo to fall in love with" - Liverpool etc.
“Refreshingly Different” - MMtv
