Rossland Gardens invites visitors to experience one of Amherst Island’s most historic properties as part of Doors Open. Located on the island’s oldest farmstead, established circa 1790, Rossland Gardens is a privately owned historic site that has been under careful restoration since 2016 by artists Darlene Martin-Stuart and Ross Stuart.For this special event, visitors are invited to view select areas of the house, including the original 1790s wing and the west wing, a barn built onto the original log cabin in 1890. Guests are also welcome to explore the surrounding gardens and natural trails, and to end their visit with a stop at the gallery for a complimentary beverage.
Please note: This is a historic property with uneven floors, steps, thresholds, narrow passages, and rustic outdoor trails. Visitors are asked to move carefully and remain within designated areas. Dogs are not permitted, with thanks for understanding as we protect the house, trails, gardens, wildlife, and the comfort of all guests.
