Doors Open Days is Scotland's largest free festival that celebrates places and stories, new and old.Mossvale Church on Greenock Road opened in 1884 and has been the property of several denominations, with the current congregation worshipping here since 1975. The Mossvale Hall was added in the 1960's, and the Mossy Cafe opened in 2015. But it all began in a tenement flat in Springbank Road in 1877...
A tour of the premises with a leaflet summarising the building's history will be available. Doors Open Day activity sheets for children are also available.
The Mossy Cafe will be open from 10am selling drinks and cakes. (The first hot drink is free for ages 70 and over.)
In the afternoon we will host two afternoon concerts in the Mossvale Hall with professional singer Kirsty Duncan. Kirsty is known for her range of songs from the musicals, jazz and opera. She will be accompanied by Mark Wilson on Piano. Entry to the concert is on a pay-what-you-feel basis.
1.30pm-2pm Mini Classical Concert
3pm-3.45pm Singalong Concert
As the day draws to a close - look out for our beautiful Tree of Hope, lit up in the church gardens from dusk til dawn.
