'Through the Gates of Horn & Ivory' spring tour
‘DOOL’, being derived from the Dutch word for ‘wandering’, originally emerged out of the ashes of ‘The Devil’s Blood’ and ‘Elle Bandita’ in 2015. By soul-searching their way through rhythms and melodies, debut album ‘Here Now, There Then’ was born. Not long after its release on German Prophecy Productions in 2017 the album was awarded Metal Hammer ’s ‘Debut Album Of The Year’. The album - which featured the cult hit ‘ Oweynagat’, with its accompanying ominous music video - also initiated the band’s fierce live reputation , by resulting in multiple headline tours throughout Europe , which included spots at festivals such as Graspop (Belgium), Lowlands (The Netherlands), Wacken Open Air (Germany), Wave Gotik Treffen (Germany), Hellfest (France), and Metal Days (Slovenia).
How to describe a musical anomaly?
This is a question Majak have caused many times since their inception in 2015 and thus the one unifying trade of the band is: Genreless Art, in an Anti-Zeitgeist, through the medium of a Rock'n'Roll band, with the sting of a blade & the force of a hammer.
After numerous shows all over Germany, including the legendary Wacken Open Air, the debut album The Herald (2019), the EPs Rippe’s Restless Rehearsal Rumble (2021) & The Claws of the Red Crown (2022), their new album Restless Wicked (2024, Cause of Deaf Records) opens the gates to the podium of the international underground.
Majak will leave nothing to be desired – to those who want straight Heavy Metal but love to be disappointed, can't look away from car crashes, those who find beauty in the abhorrent and all who admire the stars & darkness at night.
