CALLING ALL DRAG, DANCE, FLOW, AND OTHERWISE SPARKLY PEOPLE!
Its DooDah Time!
DooDah is a parade and festival celebrating free speech, liberty and lunacy in broad daylight and I think it would be a great opportunity simply be weird in public!
WQC's Pride Festival got rained out this year, so we're getting together to be colorful and queer together in Columbus! Bring your noise makers, your political satire signs (and sunblock and hydration) and let's get out for the 4th of July!
If you are looking for a specific thing to make a sign about, please consider a message against HB248.
HB249, if you are not aware, reclassifies drag (as well as other types of performance) as 'adult cabaret entertainment.' This is an attack on free speech and expression.
The bill hasnt passed in the senate yet- let's be out and proud while we still can! Bring your sparkles, your flags, your signs- and lets be loud!
If anyone has a car that they would like to drive in the parade, please let me know. It is a 1 mile walk in the very hot July sun, and it would be good to have a place to store props, water, etc.
