About this Event
Research increasingly shows that social isolation and loneliness can profoundly impact the quality of life, especially for older adults. Some studies show that more than 20% of adults in the United States identify as lonely, isolated, or both.
Kara Schweitzer, University of Illinois Extension Educator, will conduct this workshop on Wednesday, April 3, from 12-1 pm at Hub City Senior Center in Rochelle. This workshop is provided free of charge, but advance registration is suggested. To register, please call Hub City Senior Center at 815-562-5050. By participating in this program, learn to define the difference between social isolation and loneliness and identify risk factors for both. Also, explore the various consequences of isolation and loneliness and strategies for staying connected with others.
