Theatre Menu from 7pm:
Starters:
London Peculiar
Green split peas & cream soup.
The soup gets it's name from the Victorian fogs that plagued London during the 19th century that were nicknamed 'pea soupers' due to their thickness.
or
Scotch Woodcock
Savoury scrambled eggs on buttered wholemeal toast, topped with anchovies, capers and chives.
Mains:
Bangers & Mash
Incredible Cumberland sausages handmade by local served with creamy mash and topped with onion gravy.
or
Steak and Kidney Pie
An English classic, mouth-watering steak and kidney encased in delicious pastry served with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables.
Pudding
A Pot of our Tea House Leaf Breakfast Tea and our Homemade Raisin Scones (2 to share) with Ringed farm Jam and Cornish Clotted Cream.
While the invention of the pudding cloth revolutionised English cooking in the 16th Century, the first recorded recipe for steak and kidney pudding appears courtesy of Victorian domestic goddess Mrs Beeton in 1861.
