UTC-06:00Location
UAW Local 95 | Janesville, WI
Donna is the proprietor of Heirloom Industry as well as the Executive Director of the Beloit Historical Society. She will talk about the history of why we as quilters like to quilt together. She will personalize her presentation to include how RVQG treasures the special people we have met on our quilt journeys. This evening, we will honor some of our beloved members: Linda Short, Nancy Dooley, Carol Lee Ritland, and Bobbie Fiske. Please let us know if there is another member you would like included in this special presentation. We will also have a trunk show from Donna’s personal collection.
November theme and activity: WHY WE QUILT TOGETHER
Activity: Sharing our Memories, Celebrating our Friends
We’ll have digital pictures from study groups, retreats, etc. that you’ve been collecting. This evening we will celebrate Linda Short, Bobbie Fiske, Carol Lee Ritland, and Nancy Dooley. Do you have a project from one of their classes? Or something you created when you were with another fondly remembered Guild member? Perhaps you have a piece of fabric or idea they shared with you? Let’s celebrate them and share our memories/projects. We have several patterns that Bobbie wrote if you would like to make one. Bring your items for display.
Themed Show and Tell: Hands All Around
Quilts that have been created with someone else, a Round Robin perhaps? A project you made with your study group?
*** If you bring an item for our theme – you can enter your name for a drawing. We will of course have our wonderful monthly Show and Tell as well.
