American Music Award Winner, Donell Jones is a renowned vocalist, songwriter, and producer.The son of Renee Byrd and gospel singer Roy Jones, the Chicago native became best known for his second studio album Where I Wanna Be (1999) and its lead single, the global hit "U Know What's Up" (featuring Lisa Left-Eye Lopes). The album received platinum certification by the Recording Industry of America (RIAA), and the song peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100; its follow-up single, "Where I Wanna Be" peaked within the top 40 on the chart.
In 2000, Jones recorded the song "I'll Go" for the soundtrack of the romantic drama film Love & Basketball, which earned him a nomination for Best Original or Adapted Song, and an American Music Award in the Favorite Soul/R&B New Artist category.[
Donell Jones has produced and written hit songs for many of his contemporaries including Usher “Think of You,” 702 “Get It Together” Drea “Not Gonna Letcha," Jacquees “23,” and, Jon B.
The father of six recently completed a tour with Alicia Keys, and continues to travel the world performing, writing, and producing.
