https://donderdag.bike/The Donderdag! Youth Cyclocross clinics are open to anyone interested in cyclocross. Their mission is to provide a safe, challenging, and fun space to learn about cyclocross. Adults and kids can both ride; from strider bikes to junior riders that head on to race in the nationals. This is a sport that gets kids outside and embracing the elements. They ride in all weather: heat, rain, snow, cold, dark….everything except lightening ⚡️⚡️🌩️⛈️
Don’t have a bike? Come anyway and check out the loaner bikes that are available.
Everyone who rides needs to sign in, GET A WRISTBAND, and WEAR A HELMET.
Come prepared with water and maybe a snack, but the night always ends with fresh popped popcorn for all the riders.
Each week has a skill set that is focused on; one set for beginners and one set for the advanced riders. This sport definitely challenges riders. It’s a whole different ballgame riding through grass and sand, carrying your bike over barriers and stairs. It’s challenging. There are frequent tears of frustration. But those tears usually turn into determination and strength as they push through and accomplish these hard things. Have you ever ridden through a grassy, hilly course in the dark? It’s empowering once you do!
You may think you are coming out to just learn some bike handling skills…but they will leave with sooooo much more than that.
Come prepared and fill out the waiver before you arrive.
