North Central Animal Services pet food pantry is in need of donations

The Pet Food Pantry helps keep families together by putting food “under” the table for their pets. Without this direct community intervention, low-income families are forced to consider the tragedy of surrendering their beloved pets. Not only is this heartbreaking, but animal surrenders strain the capacity of our animal shelters and their hardworking staff and volunteers.

LA Animals Need You

Your generosity will literally change lives. Help North Central Animal Services keep families together, help them find loving homes for homeless pets, and help them care for animals in need.

Why Should You Donate?

The Pet Food Pantry was an immediate response to the Covid-19 pandemic. But the societal and financial aftershocks are continuing to be felt, especially by our city’s most vulnerable citizens. The cost of living, as well as basic needs, have increased in Los Angeles: our communities and their pets need help.

You can help by donating cat or dog food through our Amazon wish list Any donation of dry dog food would be greatly appreciated. We also need zip lock bags at North Central. To help stock the Pet Food Pantry.

Volunteer with the Pet Food Pantry Today!

If you cannot donate today, consider volunteering at the Pet Food Pantry. If you are interested in starting immediately as a Pet Food Pantry volunteer, apply here. The pantry operates every Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the North Central shelter. Prep shifts, distribution shifts, and most importantly lead volunteer shifts are needed critically.

Be a hero to animals all over Los Angeles. You provide extra care for animals in shelters, help keep pets and families together, and prevent suffering for animals big and small.
