Tenor saxophonist Neal Bowens plays a funky mix of contemporary jazz and old-school favorites, with a personal nod to legendary artists like Grover Washington Jr.
The Neal Bowens Project showcases some of Richmond’s finest with John Saure on guitar, Phil Thompson on bass, Ray Grady on drums, Nelson Valentine on keys, and Dave Triplett on trumpet.
Former lead singer/guitarist with RVA’s Standing Room Only band, Prince Redd is the special guest vocalist who currently plays with jazz recording artist Kim Waters and is keyboardist for Atlanta-based band Madoca.
Dominion Energy Jazz Café hosts free, in-person performances by some of the area’s best jazz musicians at VMFA every Wednesday in partnership with the Richmond Jazz Society.
