Happy 2025! The first Jazz Café of the year is on a THURSDAY. The dynamic Kevin Gaines Trio will celebrate the start of a new year of jazz and love with some "swangin'" standards from Benny Golson to Cedar Walton. The sultry songstress Carla Jackson will perform some of her favorite tunes, as well.
The band features Ayinde Williams on piano, Jimmy Tressell on bass, Kevin Gaines on drums, and special guest Carla Jackson on vocals.
Dominion Energy Jazz Café hosts free, in-person performances by some of the area’s best jazz musicians at VMFA every Wednesday in partnership with the Richmond Jazz Society.
