Domestic Violence Awareness Sunday Jazz Brunch

Urban Not Average, a youth empowerment non profit organization, in collaboration with Dear Deanndra, a non profit organization created to prevent domestic violence for teens, cordially invite you to our next charity event!

The purpose of this event is to honor those who have been impacted by the severity of Domestic Violence. This event will be held on Sunday, October 24th at Maggiano's Little Italy located in Cumberland Mall from 1-4pm.

This event will be followed by a "Cocktails for A Cause" soiree at Continent for an opportunity to mix and mingle with those in the local community who are advocates against domestic violence for teens.

Our Why?

One out of five teenage girls in the United States will become victims of domestic violence. According to DoSomething.org (2021), teens who suffer dating abuse are highly susceptible to long-term afflictions like alcoholism, eating disorders, promiscuity, thoughts of suicide, and violent behavior. Teens who have been abused hesitate to seek help because they do not want to expose themselves or are unaware of the laws surrounding domestic violence.

This is unacceptable. There must be a paradigm shift, and we aim to implement that shift one case at a time through events such as this, but we need your support.

This fundraiser is designed to connect with our community, honor those who are making an impact for this cause, and shed light on this serious matter. Additionally, for your support of this event, you will receive a tax exempt letter for your donation.

-Author, Philanthropist and fearless survivor of sexual abuse. She is the creator of a movement for the “Don’t Touch Me” platform.
