DOLPHIN DASH REGATTA – OFFICIAL RULES

$30 each boat entry
Register at the office by August 8th
walk up registration will not be allowed.
BOAT CONSTRUCTION RULES
• Boats must be constructed entirely from cardboard, tape, and glue.
• NO staples, nails, screws, zip ties, wire, wood, plastic, fiberglass, metal, or other reinforcing materials.
• NO pool noodles, flotation devices, inflatables, foam, life jackets used as flotation, or any other buoyancy aids attached to the boat.

- water based paint only! No acrylic based paint
• Boats must be powered only by the rider(s).
• Paddles may be made from materials other than cardboard; however, paddles may not be motorized, mechanically assisted, or modified in a manner that could damage other boats or participants. Pool skimmers, kayak paddles, canoe paddles, and homemade paddles are permitted.
• Riders who have not passed the swim test must wear a life jacket or floaties AND ride with an adult.
• All boats must be inspected and approved before races begin.
RACE FORMAT
• Boats will race in heats of 4–5 boats at a time.
• Winning a heat does NOT guarantee a cash prize.
• Fastest finishers from all heats will advance to the Championship Race.
• Cash prizes will be awarded based on the results of the Championship Race only.
• Officials reserve the right to disqualify any boat or team for unsafe conduct or rule violations.
SPECIAL AWARDS
• Best Decorated Boat
• Most Creative Design
• Titanic Award (Best Sinking)
