Why it matters:
Common Ground is a regenerative agriculture and food justice initiative. We build healthy soil instead of buying it, run free workshops for the community, and grow food the way it's supposed to be grown. Our harvests will also be distributed freely throughout the Brazos Valley. Every dollar raised at DollyWould goes straight back into that work: paying our workshop instructors, covering the basics as well as the bills, and building toward our next goals (including sheep-herding and on-site horticultural therapy taught by a trained LPC).
There will be multiple nonprofit and community-building organizations represented at the event as well, including League of Women Voters, Brazos Valley Voice, and Brazos Valley Alliance! In addition to that, local vendors and artisans will have booths to browse there.
Common Ground is a project of the Institute for Global Health and Health Policy (IGHHP), founded by retired Texas A&M professor Dr. Raymond Tarpley.
Want to do more than show up?
We're still taking auction donations, sponsorships, and vendor tables. If you're covering local food security work in the Brazos Valley, we'd love to have you there too. Reach out at [email protected] or 979-326-4669.
See y'all on the 17th. Wear your wig.
