On the day you will hear from Rob Turnbull, Sustainability Manager, Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) about the steps they are taking to reduce their environmental impact and to preserve our planet for future generations. We will learn how they are working toward a climate and nature positive plan, their partnership with RSPB for climate mitigation and their sustainable business programme.

Lauren Ridgley from the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce will also share information on the Circular Edinburgh project that aims to help the City’s economy become more circular.

Tara Cusack from Royal Bank of Scotland will introduce you to their carbon planner to start your net zero journey by tracking your major consumption.

Rob Turnbull, Sustainability Manager, Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC)

Rob Turnbull, BEng AFHEA is the recently appointed sustainability manager for the EICC. He is currently in the final stages of his PhD, being at the correction phase where his research has focused on improving the manufacturing process of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells. During this funded research position, he has co-written both Publications and Conference Papers, as well as spoken at international conferences in both the United States and Switzerland. Prior to joining the EICC, he was an Associate Lecturer at Edinburgh Napier University, delivering modules such as Renewable Energy and Sustainability, Energy Systems Design, Buildings Services Engineering and Advanced Thermodynamic Systems.

Lauren Ridgley, Project Officer at the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce

Lauren is a Project Officer for Circular Edinburgh at the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce. The Circular Edinburgh project aims to help the City become more circular. She supports local businesses to help them identify and embed opportunities for circular economy principles within their business model. Lauren recently graduated with a Distinction in MSc Carbon Management and has an interest in sustainability and in particular Circular Economy.

Tara Cusack, Local Enterprise Manager, Royal Bank of Scotland

Tara is a Local Enterprise Manager with Royal bank of Scotland covering Edinburgh and the East area. Tara works closely within the business marketplace to support, develop and add value to SME’s by providing business advice, bringing together local business, and hosting regular events.
