Access Requirements for Fort Sill:
DoD ID Holders
If you have one of these, you can proceed directly to the gate:
- Common Access Card (CAC) – Active duty, Reserve, Guard, DoD civilians.
- Uniformed Services ID (USID) – Dependents, retirees.
Civilian Visitors Without a DoD ID
Must go through the , located just south of Bentley Gate on Sheridan Road.
Requirements:
- Fort Sill Form 118a – For general visitors requesting unescorted access.
- Background Check – NCIC-III check on all adults (and drivers aged 16–17).
- REAL ID–compliant license – If not available, bring another valid government-issued photo ID (passport, federal PIV card, TWIC, etc.).
- Visitor Pass Card – Issued upon approval, valid for the length of your authorized stay.
- Vehicle Documentation – Registration and proof of insurance if driving on post.
Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) Without DoD ID
Even on-duty non-DoD law enforcement must meet certain requirements unless their agency has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Fort Sill for direct access.
Requirements:
- Visitor Pass via VWC – Must register and pass NCIC-III background check.
- Proper Identification – REAL ID-compliant credential or two acceptable alternate IDs (passport, non-compliant license, etc.).
- Vehicle Requirements – Registration, proof of insurance, and vehicle search if requested.
- Weapons Policy – Personally owned weapons prohibited; duty weapons only allowed if access is for official law enforcement business and in compliance with Army Regulation 190-14.
- Security Compliance – All personnel and vehicles are subject to inspection upon entry.
Security Procedures for All Entrants
- Gates may conduct 100% ID checks and random or universal vehicle inspections.
- No prohibited items (weapons, drugs, etc.) without proper authorization.
- Foreign nationals require advance clearance.
