The Play 'n Train Workshop is a unique, fun and relaxing training experience teaching basic manners through fun methods in a country setting
About this Event

This unique 2 hour dog training workshop is designed for all skill levels and is focused on getting people out with their dogs and enjoying time with them on a beautiful farm!Taught by professional trainer and behavior specialist with over 25 years experience with many animals both wild and domestic, you will learn some basic skills to focus your dog's attention in highly distracting situations, while also practicing and applying what you just learned by playing fun doggy games for prizes! This is a wonderful opportunity to relax with your dog as they benefit from environmental enrichment and a fun time with you. After the workshop, there will be some locally made crafts for purchase and a seasonal set- up with a professional photographer for options to purchase beautiful pet portraits!

In order to keep the event running smoothly and create a safe and fun environment for all, please read the following information. If you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to call the trainer Kelly at 561-561-309-9392.

☆Proof of rabies must be provided before the date of event by either texting a photo of the up to date current rabies paperwork or the tag to Kelly at 561-309-9392 or email it to [email protected].

☆ Dogs must be minimum 6 months of age.

☆ One dog per handler. Minimum 2 participants so there is always a person in your party able to hold onto your dog if you need a restroom break, etc. If you are only able to attend by yourself, you must bring a crate for your dog. Host staff, assistants or workshop speaker WILL NOT be responsible for holding onto your dog at any time. Children must be 12 or older to attend.

☆ Bring a variety of your dogs favorite treats that are soft not crunchy, poop bags for clean up, water bowl and extra water for you and your dog(there is plenty of water on the farm so don't worry if you do need more or run out!), an old towel, a favorite toy that is easy for you to hold onto (ie, a stuffed animal or a ball with a rope attached).

☆ All dogs are to remain ON LEASH at all times while on the farm property.

☆ NO choke chains, pinch/prong collars or electric/shock collars allowed. NO RETRACTABLE/FLEXI LEADS.

☆ Any other collars or harnesses are fine, just be sure they are fitted snugly and properly so your dog CANNOT back out of them. Martingale, aka greyhound or no-slip collars are preferred to prevent that from occurring.

☆ 6' leash required. No chain leashes.

☆ All dogs are to remain minimum 10' apart from other participants' dogs at ALL TIMES. Exceptions are dogs from the same house or dogs that already know each other. Not all dogs are comfortable with strange dogs running up to them, and some are reactive on leash so please respect other participants' space in case their dog is not comfortable around other dogs. This is a large property with plenty of room for all and the workshop is the perfect opportunity to help your dog if he/she is one of those leash reactive dogs! Call Kelly the trainer for any questions regarding this.

Prizes will be awarded to winners of the games and contests, and ALL dogs will receive a complimentary goodie bag for attending!

Our location was originally Circle B Ranch and now operates as CB Stables, offering a rustic and quiet retreat in Loxahatchee Groves for horses and riders. We support humans and their animal partners in establishing healthy and happy relationships through a range of educational and experiential programs.

PICNIC WITH YOUR DOG! CB Stables will be offering an opportunity to purchase a delicious grilled lunch for $15 with your choice of protein (grilled portobellos will be available as a vegetarian choice) including a drink. The grill master will be on property and firing up the grill so that lunch will be ready after the workshop ends at noon! Bring your own blankets and/or chairs to sit under a shade tree and relax with your dog! If you are unable to remain for a picnic or if your dog is just too pooped from all the fun of the workshop, you may purchase the lunch and take it home with you! Please bring your own reusable water bottles with extra water for you and your dog during the workshop, as we discourage the over-use of plastic single use water bottles.
