Dog Days of Summer Saunter

Bring along your four-legged friends for a hike in the Marin Headlands. From the Visitor Center, we'll head out on the Lagoon Trail to Rodeo Beach. There, we can talk and bark a bit about the area's amazing rock outcrops and unique beach sand, which includes carnelians. (This is the "type locale" for the Franciscan Assemblage of rocks, a really big deal to geologists.)

Absolutely no need to bring a dog to attend. Just bring your sense of adventure.

Many years ago, this glorious natural area was saved from a massive sprawl development through citizen action. Another grassroots effort is underway to stop a giant sprawl development in Solano County, with help from Greenbelt Alliance. Read about it here: Solano Together

We’ll assemble at the parking lot at the old Visitor Center on Bunker Road.

NOTES

Bring liquids and snacks. Dress in layers and wear good hiking shoes. Dogs need to be on leash along the Lagoon Trail, but can romp unleashed at Rodeo Beach. There is a restroom and water at our meeting spot.
