Documentary Screening & Panel Series: Issue: Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting
Come join us for an eye-opening event at 53 Wall St where we will be screening a powerful documentary on the issue of Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting. Following the screening, we will have a panel discussion with experts in the field to delve deeper into this important topic. This event is a great opportunity to learn, ask questions, and engage in meaningful conversations.
We welcome our panelists, Shivangi Misra from Equality Now, Caitlin LeMay from the U.S. End FGM/C Network, and Zehra Patwa, a survivor and board member at Sahiyo U.S.
About the series:
Global Girls Worldwide Women (GGWW) advocates for girls and women in a universal context, with certain areas of focus. They assert that women’s rights are human rights. They work to end child marriage, end female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C), ensure safety for girls at school, reform legal and justice systems related to girls and women who experience violence, and illuminate the experience of women in war.
GGWW promotes a new global culture of anti-misogynistic humanity in government, religion, and education.
In partnership with the Yale School of Public Health and Yale Law School, GGWW is hosting the Equity Documentary Screening and Panel Series to promote awareness of these issues.
