About this Event
In this workshop you will learn how to create a documentary photoshoot from start to finish.
We will go through the basics of bringing ideas to fruition transforming them into a shoot that emanates your ideas and thoughts. We will talk through ideas, generate conversations and understand what it is you want to say, whether it is your own story or somebody else's. Through creative thinking and practices. You will learn:
- What is documentary photography? Why is it important?
- How to make someone feel comfortable, open up, and create closeness, bonding
- Learn how to pose a person through conversation
- How to light your subject through lighting techniques
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Lucy Le Brocq is a photographer/artist based in Brighton. They explore the ideals and norms around constructed society and have been documenting the queer and trans community for 7 years, debuting their first solo show in 2018. They use their own experience to inform direction in collaboration with people who inspire them and have their own story to share. They draw inspiration from human interaction, renaissance art, current relations and the everyday mundanities.
