About this Event
Join Scribe Video Center and the Institute of Contemporary Art at Penn to celebrate new works from Scribe’s 2025 Documentary History Project For Youth program. Each year, youth participants create short documentary films as a way to explore some aspect of the social, political, and cultural history of Philadelphia.
This year's theme of “Why We Dance, Where We Dance” encouraged participants to research and investigate the history of dance in Philadelphia and how young people are involved with continuing the traditions. Filmmakers include Amina Frink, Ayah Free Hapi, Bernard Cross, Bernard Stephens, Braeden Cross, Gabriella Alexander, Grant Cusaac, Kamani Bright, Kenna Augustin, Ramon G. Gilmore Jr., and Talan Callicut.
The Documentary History Project for Youth is made possible by support from the National Endowment for the Arts, The Independence Public Media Foundation, Hamilton Family Trust, Rosenlund Family Foundation, Stockton Rush Bartol Foundation, Christopher Ludwick Foundation, Christian R. and Mary F. Lindback Foundation, and Adobe.
