Join us for a free evening of Baltimore history, including the premiere screening of a new documentary before it hits the theater. The Midnight Ride of Jonathan Luna covers the utterly bizarre circumstances around the death of a federal prosecutor from Baltimore in 2003. Luna's body was found stabbed 36 times, drowned in a small creek in Amish country Pennsylvania. He had spent his final evening writing a plea deal for a federal drug and murder case. Long the subject of speculation and podcasts, this case is told through reenactments and interviews with local journalists and politicians, some of whom viewers will surely recognize.6pm - Mark Hannon will give a presentation about the history of the Baltimore City Fire Department. Mark wrote the book Fire Laddies, about the fascinating history of firefighting in Baltimore around the turn of the 20th century.
7pm - Screening of The Midnight Ride of Jonathan Luna, directed by Dan Cohen, based on the book by William Keisling.
Both presenters will be available for a Q & A and book signing afterwards.
Light fare & refreshments will be provided. Feel free to bring your own wine or beer.
